Plans approved to create new film production complex in Hull

Date posted: 11/07/2024

We are delighted to announce that planning permission for a complex of new film studios in Hull has now been given the go-ahead.

We would like to thank ADP Architectural Design and Hull City Council Planning Department for the very fast turnaround in getting this project to the approval stage.

This is really exciting news for Hull and the region and presents a great opportunity to attract long-term productions, in turn helping to further develop local skills in supporting fully operational soundstages.

Currently, Hull and the surrounding area has no permanent film production infrastructure. However, this commitment and investment into the Humber Region will be the start of something very special for Hull.

We would also like the thank all the people who contacted us. We have not had nearly enough time to reply to everyone in person, but it was an interesting surprise to find so many people in our area who already work in the film industry, from prosthetic makeup artists, technicians through to stunt artists, all of whom head south for work.

Let’s hope that we can get this local facility off the ground. How about having a 20-minute commute to work instead of a 3-hour journey down the motorway?
