In this film we take a look back to 2015 & 16 at the unveiling and installation of ‘The Last Trip’ Memorial to Lost Fishermen

Northern Films has put this short feature together which captures some of the wonderful moments that were covered by BBC Radio Humberside during the first unveiling and the subsequent installation of ‘The Last Trip’ Memorial to Lost Fishermen in Hull.

‘The Last Trip’ memorial was first unveiled at a ceremony in 2015 on a temporary site at InterTech on Priory Park Industrial Estate in Hull. A year later, just before the City of Culture celebrations began, Trinity House kindly offered a much better home for the memorial at the famous Zebedee’s Yard in the city centre of Hull. A separate installation ceremony was held there in 2016. This film chronicles both events and David Burns (Burnsy) from BBC Radio Humberside selflessly gave up his time to host them.

Northern Films would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Burnsy and BBC Radio Humberside for all their help. We would also like to offer our congratulations to BBC Radio Humberside, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
